MultiChoice Malawi, through its GOtv product, has partnered Skeffa Chimoto on the launch of his fifth album Chikondi scheduled for this weekend.

Chikondi promises to be Album of the Year if the hype it has generated so far since the release of promotional songs including the hit song Chinamuluma Chakuda is anything to go by.
The other songs that continue to enjoy airplay are Dalitsani Okondedwa, Ndilandileni and Neneleni.
Chimoto launches Chikondi in three of the major cities with GMC in Zomba the first to sample the album on Friday before the artist invades Robins Park in Blantyre the following day.
It will be the turn of Lilongwe on Sunday when he takes the launch to the newly-opened entertainment arena, Wakawaka.
Chimoto said he has received overwhelming response on the album from the public as well as his fellow musicians.
“I can say that the response has been overwhelming, in just weeks I have released the four promotional songs for airplay, many people have been giving me positive feedback which gives me hope that this album will sell well on the market,” he said.
He said the support from MultiChoice is very beneficial to him and his music.
“MultiChoice has done all radio and TV adverts for me and in turn, they will sell GOtv products at the Lilongwe and Blantyre launches. On top on that, all my CDs will contain GOtv information for people to listen to,” he explained.
MultiChoice Malawi marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda said their support marks the launch of GOtv’s festive season.
“As MultiChoice Malawi we will take advantage of the album launch to officially commence the GOtv Festive Season Campaign. During the promotion, people will buy GOtv set at K29 600 which includes one month subscription and a grid antenna. We decided to come up with this new price to give chance to more people to purchase GOtv.
GOtv will be available for sale at both venues with free entry guaranteed for everyone buys the gadget as well as a Chikondi CD and free GOtv exercise books.
MultiChoice Malawi, through GOtv, believes in supporting local artists hence our partnership with Skeffa’s album launch. We are also planning to do another GOtv theme song early next year and we are currently shooting new GOtv comedy series which will be aired in on MBC TV next month,” explained Nyirenda.
The launch will also feature performances by the Black Missionaries, Dalisoul from Zambia and Piksy.
