Mzimba youths engage MP on development
Youths in Mzimba Luwerezi Constituency have asked their legislator Fischer Kenani Nkhwazi (Democratic Progressive Party) to prioritise construction of youth resource centres and road infrastructure in the area.
The youths made the plea during a meeting with the parliamentarian on Saturday organised by Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency (Csat) under its Youth, Media and Parliamentary programme.

Mabulabo Youth Network representative Happy Nkhoma said poor roads and lack of youth centres are affecting youth development.
“We want the MP to prioritise construction of youth resource centres, bridges and roads. This will improve access to healthcare and education, especially for us the youth,” he said.
M’mbelwa District Council planning officer Matiya Chikoya commended Csat for creating a platform that allows youths to directly engage their parliamentarian.
“These engagements give young people a voice to demand accountability and to understand how public projects are implemented in the constituency,” he said.
Nkhwazi assured the youth that plans are underway to address their challenges.
“We plan to establish youth centres and rehabilitate roads to ease the challenges facing our constituents,” he said.
Csat project coordinator Albert Lulaka urged youths to participate in governance and ensure that they benefit from development initiatives.
Csat is running the Youth, Media and Parliamentary Engagement project in the district with funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
