The National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Women’s Premiership will for the first time feature mid-week games with four matches scheduled for this afternoon and tomorrow.

“With the Scorchers expected to get into camp soon, some clubs will be exempted from league matches during the Fifa window for contributing key players to the national team. So, we want them to play most of their games before camping,” she said.
The mid-week games might have also been initiated to cope with the delayed season start. The second edition of the national league was initially scheduled to kick off in May but it rolled into action just a week ago.
This afternoon, Blantyre-based NBM Women’s Premiership leaders FCB Nyasa Bullets Women will take on hosts Fact Ladies at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe while champions Silver Strikers Ladies will face fellow Lilongwe-based side MDF Lioness at Civo Stadium.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Mighty Wanderers Queens will host Lilongwe-based Ascent Academy at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre whereas Rumphi Sisters will be at home to Kukoma Ntopwa Women of Blantyre at Rumphi Stadium.
Bullets Women lead the pack on better goal difference following a tie on six points with Silver Ladies while Ascent and MDF Lioness are second and third, respectively, with a tie on four points.
