The New Home Restaurant in Lilongwe City has been in operation for 10 months.

Situated near Lilongwe Bus Depot, it boasts of its meals, beauty,  state of art furniture and quality service. No wonder the eatery has established itself as one of the city’s finest.

On offer are both traditional and English meals. Topping the menu is a vegetarian dish called mixed meal. This is prepared with bananas, rice, chips, sweet potatoes, cassava and spaghetti.

Other meals include  local chicken, all types of meat braii, cooked plantain and traditional dishes such as nsima and nkhwani wotendera, mpiru, or beans.

According to restaurant director Cecilia Dulani, traditional meals are a legacy they have sustained from the start.

“We are proud of being Malawian and we know what local meals account for and I can tell the nation that we are the best because of this,” said Dulani.

Boasting of seven qualified waiters and waitress, Dulani challenges that no one has ever complained about their service.

On future plans Dulani says, she wants to expand the eatery from the current capacity of 50 to over 100.

The restaurant opens at 7am and closes at 10pm every day.
