New Jerusalem Choir has launched their music journey with the release of Chatsala N’chiyani album this weekend.
According to its director Amith Genala, the five-year-old group will unveil the 10-track album on Sundayat Chinsapo Secondary School in Lilongwe.
The release recorded by George Chinthenga at Gani Records contains danceable rhumba, reggae and traditional beats.
“We have been listening to fellow artists’ offerings and we are here to fill the gaps. I think we have done it, but listeners are better placed to judge us,” said Genala.
Some of the songs in the album are already enjoying airplay on some radio stations and the cover track,Chatsala N’chiyani has become listeners’ favourite in phone-in programmes.
The launch will be headlined by Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers, Evance Watsopano Mereka, Kelvin Shema,
Good Friday, Kondwani Chirwa and Chinsapo Gospel Ambassadors.
