New Sadc deputy executive secretary appointed

Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) Council of Ministers has appointed Thembinkosi Mhlongo as deputy executive secretary (DES) for Sadc Region Integration effective November 1, 2013 during the Sadc Extraordinary Council of Ministers meeting held from October 22-24, 2013 in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Mhlongo was appointed after successfully passing interviews that were held in private on Tuesday 22 October and after beating 3 other candidates.

He was sworn in on Thursday in Lilongwe at the Capital Hotel, by Chief Justice Anastanzia Msosa. Picture shows Mhlongo (L) being sworn in.
