Flames striker Robin Ngalande has finally explained his dramatic move from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid to South African PSL side Bidvest Wits.

He says change of management was the main reason he was forced out of Madrid.

Regarded as one of Malawi’s best football exports in recent years, Ngalande was on the books of Madrid Reserves teams until he made a shock move to return to South Africa in June.

“A lot has been said about my move to Wits and a lot has been untrue. Let me tell Malawians that the move was for the good of my career. The team had a new management and things were not going on well. So it was good that I moved back to South Africa.

“I am still young. I will work hard to find another opportunity soon. Wits are a good team and my career will grow well here,” he said.

Ngalande also said he was tempted to move back to South Africa because of prospects of playing first team football.

“I am now a regular Flames player as such I need to be playing first team football regularly as well,” said Ngalande who is yet to play an official game for Wits as he is still struggling with registration.
