Boxers Philemon Nkhakamila Banda and Boniface ‘Killer’ Stenala will take it to the ring at Domwe Motel in Dedza on Saturday in an eight-round non-title bout.

According to Mulanje Last Boxing Promotions (MLBP) Nginjale ‘Tough’ Ben Chitenje, the venue of the fight was asked for by fun-starved boxing fans in the district.

“Every time I passed by the area, many people have been asking when they would watch live high-profile bouts within their vicinity and this is the time for their dreams to come true,” Chitenje said.

But the mood of the bout has already started to build up with Nkhakamila guaranteeing a knockout as early as the third round.

“I will deliberately keep him alive up to the third round for the sake of the fans, but my intention was to floor him in the first round,” challenges 31-year-old Nkhakamila who has 22 wins in 28 fights.

On his part, Stenala, who is currently camping in Bangwe Hill in Blantyre, said he will distort his opponent’s face beyond recognition.

Stenala, 29, has a record of four wins and two draws.

The winner of the bantam weight fight will take home a K70 000 (about $175) prize aside from being given chance to fight titleholder Jobson Adams.
