“I feel honoured to be the brand ambassador for K Motors. There are many duties that you do as a brand ambassador. I have to ensure that we are working jointly to uplift the art and promote their services,” said Onenimus.

The musician said there are many areas in the art and culture sectors which companies may want to reach out.

Onesimus said: “There is a lot of talent in Malawi which needs support. Companies should stand with artists so the craft is celebrated.”

K Motors general manager Marlon J Mount said they expect Onesimus to work with great values by raising the company’s profile.

He said: “We decided to engage him because he is a brand which has made inroads in Malawi and the rest of Africa. We have set footprints in the work we do and we want someone who can take us along.”

Onesimus joins a list of other artists such as Gwamba, Zeze Kingston, Wikise and Waxy Kay who are also ambassadors for various companies.

Art enthusiast Wonderful Mkutche said artists need to preserve their reputations to be appreciated.

“Their numbers can easily be turned into money for the brands they represent depending on how they position the brand. A brand ambassador has to be where the customers of the brand are found. They need to expand their capabilities into these spaces,” he said.
