Organisation donates to Dowa District Hospital

Wandikweza Organisation has donated assorted medical supplies worth K4.6 million to Dowa District Hospital to complement government’s efforts in providing quality healthcare to the community.

The handover took place on Tuesday at the hospital.

Some of the medical supplies donated included assorted surgical tools, dental chairs and x-ray, stretcher, microscope, oxygen masks, N95 masks, biohazard waste bins, suctions tubers and sutures.

In her speech during the ceremony, Wandikweza Organisation executive director Mercy Kafotokoza said as one of the partners working in the district, they saw the need to make the donation to help different departments.

She said: “We saw how these items were needed at this facility and how helpful they were going to be to patients seeking help from Dowa District Hospital.”

Dowa district director of health and social services Peter Makonza said the donation  came at the right time when the hospital was in need of the medical supplies.

On his part, Dowa district commissioner Alex Mdooko thanked Wandikweza Organisation for its support to the hospital.
