In the Mangochi League, Zitherepano will face Yagao in the semi-finals which start at 1pm. Mangochi Escom will meet Marine Unit in another semi-final at 3pm, according to the league’s general secretary Neverton Mhone. Both games will be hosted by Sunbird Nkopola.

In the Salima finals, which will take place at Sunbird Livingstonia, teams that will take part are Tiripano, Munali, Livingstone, Tourism, Mchenga wa Moto, Ace Pub, Mango, and Parachute Battalion.

In the Chintheche League, Chitata Night Club, Kaweta Destroyers, Vuma United, Kawiyazaro, Mphatso Foundation, Katoto, Mphamba and Chintheche Escom have made it into the quarter-finals.

“The Salima and Chintheche leagues are at the quarter-final stage, but the games will start around 9am. We hope to have the champions by the end of the day. Prize category is the same in all the leagues,” said BSM treasurer Nkhwachi Theu.

He expressed satisfaction that the competitions have been free of controversy or violence.

“I think the coaching clinics for administrators and officiation teams organised by FAM prior to the tournament made a difference. It has been a smooth competition so far,” said Theu.

The winners will receive K150 000 (about $375), runners-up will earn K100 000 (about $250), third-place will get K60 000 (about $150) while fourth place will earn K40 000 (about $100).
