Nyasa Big Bullets yesterday run riot at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre when they dazzled TN Stars with an 8-0 humiliation in the TNM Super League to open a 12-point gap with second-placed Blue Eagles.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Bullets coach Kallisto Pasuwa applauded his charges for being offensive after conceding seven goals in their last two games.

“Last time we played at the stadium, we conceded many goals. So, we didn’t want to be caught off guard. Thumbs up to the boys,” he said.

His counterpart Herbert Mtuwa blamed the players for giving Bullets too much room.

“It’s all about mindset of the players. It shows that the players were not committed. They gave Bullets too much respect. This is unacceptable,” he said.

In a match monitored on radio, Anthony Mfune registered a hat-trick when he opened his account in the seventh minute, registered his second in the 15th minute and netted the third  in the 59th minute.

Defender Precious Sambani also contributed two goals scored in the 10th minute and 31st minute while Ernest Petro, Blessings Mpochera and Patrick  Mwaungulu scored a goal each to worsen the Kasungu-based outfit’s woes.

The People’s Team finished with 10-men when Frank Billiati was injured in the 87th minute after they had already completed their substitutions quota.

In Lilongwe, Silver Strikers registered their second consecutive win after seeing off a stiff challenge from Zomba-based Malawi Defence Force side Red Lions at Bingu National Stadium with a 2-1 win.

Goals from defender Nixon Mwase in the first half and Chawanangwa Kaonga ensured maximum three points. Paul Kansungwi pulled one back for the Lions.

Last week, the Central Bankers narrowly defeated Rumphi United 1-0 as they got back to winning ways following draws against Ekwendeni Hammers and Civil Service United.

Red Lions finished the game with 10 men after James Mwetse was red-carded with three minutes before recess.

The Bankers now lie fourth on the log table with 34 points and trail leaders Bullets with 18 points.

Lions, on the other hand, are 11th with 21 points.

In Kasungu, Blue Eagles dropped points in a goalless draw against Civil Service United at Kasungu Stadium.
