Southern Region Police are advising people to inform police when they receive threatening messages through phones and other means.
According to spokesperson for Southern Region Police Nicholas Gondwa, making death threats is a serious offence that attracts a stiff punishment.
“It is our plea as police that when people receive any kind of information or are being intimidated in any way, they should report such information to the nearest police station for immediate action,” said Gondwa.
He said police have the means to trace people involved in the crime even when the threats are made through phones.
“People suspected of such malicious acts are arrested once found and they are taken before the court of law,” said Gondwa.
