The spirit of self-help by communities of Nthipela Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Mwambo in Zomba bore fruits when Rotary International through Limbe Rotary Club on Monday handed over a primary school block at Mbidi.

The junior primary school got the support through faith-based Emmanuel International country director Paul Jones, a member of Limbe Rotary Club, who asked his colleagues for assistance.

Some of the items that were handed over included learning materials, a library, staff-room, and sports attire all worth $30 000.

“Let me thank Rotary Club of Limbe for communicating with our Canadian colleagues for the support, Arkay Plastics for donating chairs and Sir Harry Johnston International School for donating the books,” said Jones.

In his remarks, Zomba Rural district education manager Abraham Sineta said government needs partners to complement its efforts in promoting quality delivery of education services in the country.
