More of a corporate event the session was a celebration of artistry, as Rudo performed some of the tracks from the new EP.

Rudo performed alongside Zambian musician Abel Chungu, who arrived in the country last Wednesday.

The celebrations continued on Saturday evening at Kigali Events Centre, where the mood shifted to a more vibrant showcase.

With a diverse audience, the second session turned into a mini-concert, featuring performances from other artists who were on the line-up.

Before the woman of the show, the stage was warmed up by upcoming musicians Sir Creedy, Sir Odilo and Tasha Daffrede, who all brought their unique energy to the stage.

The room was energetic enough as KBG also stepped on the stage with his performance on the day.

It was time for Rudo’s set as she was joined on stage by Abel Chungu who they have also collaborated on a song in the EP titled Wabwino.

Mixing soulful melodies further electrified the night and highlighted the cross-border collaboration between Malawi and Zambia.

The five-track EP includes other tracks such as Surprise, Faithful, Cholinga and Hallelujah which were also performed during the event.

After their performance, Kelvin Sings took the stage with his tracks Chimwemwe, Simudzasintha before Shammah Vocals closed off the night with an energised performance.

Speaking after the performance, Rudo said the two sessions were meant to give her fans a heartfelt preview of what is coming as the team prepares for the release.

“It was a great two days and people have appreciated the EP saying it has ministered amongst them,” she said.

Rudo said a similar event will be planned for Blantyre and other activities before the official release of the EP.

Abel Chungu, who has collaborated with a number of Malawian musicians, said he is positive that more collaboration will emerge in the future and that fans should look forward to more features.

He said Ulendo EP is another musical expression for glorifying God and giving him praise and that is what is important when it comes to the gospel.
