Sabina joins Georgian side
Scorchers forward Sabina Thom has become the country’s latest women’s football export to Europe after joining Georgian side Lanchkhuti Women’s Football Club.
She joins the Georgia Women’s Football League side on a two-year contract, barely a month after parting ways with TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo.

Thom is returning to Europe having played for Kvarnsmederns IK in Sweden from 2017 to 2019.
The 28-year-old, who was part of the Scorchers squad that faced Zambia Copper Queens in two international friendly matches this month, said she was thrilled to return to Europe.
She said: “It’s a dream come true. I am excited that I am returning to Europe where I will be able to play in the Uefa Champions League against big teams. I thank God for making this possible”
Thom joins other Scorchers players France-based duo Tabitha Chawinga, who plays for Lyonnaise of France and Rose Kabzere of Montpellier as well Vanessa Chikupira and Bernadette Mkandawire who turn up for Biik-Kazygurt FC of Kazakhstan.
Thom joined Mazembe from KB Lioness less than a season after she left Tanzania outfit Simba FC.
While with TP Mazembe, Thom won several accolades, including CAF Women’s Champions League last year, alongside compatriot Chimwemwe Madise.
