After several weeks of waiting, Sand Festival has finally signed a contract to invite South African popular music group Big Nuz.

The act failed to show up for the 2013 Sunbird Sand Festival at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi earlier this month.

In an interview on Saturday, director of the festival, Lucius Banda, said his office engaged Entertainers Promotion director Jai Banda to come up with a legal deal with Big Nuz which should be honoured.

Lucius said the group will be in the country on November 3 2013 and will perform at Wakawaka Europa in Lilongwe.

They are expected to fly back home the following day.

“We have been in touch with Big Nuz since their failure to come for our festival. They proved to us why they did not make it and we understood them.

“During our discussions, we saw that it was possible for the group to come because we know we disappointed our fans, but we wanted a different contract. They linked us to n

their lawyers through their label Afrotainment and Jai Banda has been in talks with them,” said Lucius.

He also revealed that the group will not bring one of its members Mandla Maphumulo who has been replaced by L’vovo Derrango.

L’vovo is popular with the hit Palesa which he performed with Professor.

According to Banda, the group which has L’vovo, Mzi Tshomela and Sbu Khomo will be accompanied by manager DJ Tira.

“It is full house. They want to show that they did not miss the Sand Festival deliberately. I am happy that the group is finally coming and my followers will understand me after dancing with the group.

“We have invested over K5 million to ensure the group comes and we are not recovering the money. We just want to fulfill our promise,” said Banda.
