Seeded Escom Sisters, Bingu Tigresses, MTL Queens and Woget Stars have earned semi-final slots in the K1 million (about $3 333) Rainbow Paints Top Six Netball Series after pushing out Airwing Sisters and Glass Bank Sisters, who made it into the Top-Six stage through qualification last week.
Airwing Sisters lost their two matches at the Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC) on Sunday to finish last in Group A. Escom Sisters topped the group with straight wins whereas MTL Queens took second slot with a single win.
In Group B, Glass Bank Sisters also found the Top Six stage agonising with two defeats as Bingu Tigresses moved to the top with two victories. Woget finished second after winning one game.
Escom Sisters topped Group A after trouncing Airwing Sisters 49-8 before struggling to a 27-15 triumph over MTL Queens. Bingu Tigresses beat Woget Stars 51-15 and Glass Bank Sisters 47-9 to be at the top of Group B.
According to Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie, MTL Queens will take on Tigresses in the first semi-final at the BYC before Escom Sisters face Woget Stars in the second.
