Shake-up in Blantyre CCAP Synod

The Blantyre CCAP Synod recently instituted transfers of its ministers, a development general secretary Reverend Alexander Maulana described as normal and routine.
One of the notable ministers affected by the transfers is former moderator of the synod Reverend Mercy Chilapula who has been moved from Mount Pleasant CCAP Church in Blantyre to head Balaka CCAP Church.
Reverend Reynold Mangisa, from Michiru CCAP Church, has been posted to Zomba CCAP Church.
Former synod secretary general Reverend Mac Donald Kadawati, who has been teaching at Fort Hare University in South Africa, is heading to Mlombwa CCAP Church in Blantyre.
“These transfers are normal and they are constituted every three years depending on circumstances. Ministers are supposed to be at one station for a period of three to five or six years but not beyond this.
“The aim of the transfers is enable ministers to experience life in both rural and urban areas,” said Maulana.

The transfers have also seen deputy moderator of the synod Reverend Edina Navaya being transferred to Saint James CCAP Church in Blantyre, replacing Reverend Maxwell Songola who is going to Sadzi CCAP Church in Zomba.
Reverend Dr Felix Chingota, who was ministering at Saint Columba CCAP Church in Blantyre, has been posted to Jeanes CCAP Church in Zomba, while former presidential advisor on religious affairs Reverend Billy Gama has been transferred from Makande CCAP Church to be head of station at Mulanje Mission.
