The Nomads, on the other hand, will face Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana in the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary Round.

The battle will begin with the First Preliminary Round, played over two legs on the weekends of September 19 and 21 and September 26 and 28.

Victors will advance to the Second Preliminary Round on October 17 and 19, with the return legs a week later from October 24 to 26.

Wanderers will start at home at Bingu National Stadium before travelling to Botswana for the second leg while Silver will start away to the Madagascar outfit.

If successful in the first preliminary round, the Nomads will meet the winner between Zesco United of Zambia and FC 105 Libreville of Gabon in the second round while Silver’s possible opponents in the second round are Wiliete Bengeula of Angola or Young Africans of Tanzania.

Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira described the draw as fair.

He said: “Well, all I can say is that we have welcomed the draw with enthusiasm. Our opponents are a good side.

“They have a more recent experience in this tournament than us and records show that they faired well. We are up to the challenge, we just need to prepare adequately.”

On his part, Silver Strikers coach Peter Mgangira said they are ready to meet any team in the competition.

Silver last played in CAF club competition in the 2019 when they were knocked out of CAF Confederations Cup by Ambere SC from Gabon in the first preliminary round.

The Nomads on the other hand, last participated in 2018 CAF Champions League when they lost to AS Vita Club of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
