SRCC excited with increase of coaches

The Southern Region Coaches Committee (SRCC) general secretary Aubrey Nankhuni has welcomed the relative increase of highly-qualified coaches in the Premier Division for the Southern Region Football League (SRFL).

“If we start imparting the right coaching basics to the youth in the lower league, it means our football would have a strong base. Players would master the basics before moving up the ladder. This is what has been lacking,” said Nankhuni.

Patricio Kulemeka, who holds several coaching badges and a diploma, coaches Surestream Academy alongside equally qualified Peter Mponda. Bob Mpinganjira and McDonald Mtetemela, who have Uefa licences, manages Bvumbwe Research and Prison United respectively.

CAF B Licence holder Trevor Kajawa is in charge of Polytechnic FC whereas Nankhuni himself, who boasts top qualifications from Germany, CAF and England, is managing table-topping Evirom.

Coach Noel Gobede who has a FAM C Licence led Zomba United to a successful run in the 2014 Carlsberg Cup final. Kajawa managed Sammys United in the Super League, Mpinganjira was also in charge of Mighty Wanderers Mtetemera coached Blackpool when campaigning in the top league.

Rodgers Yasini, who once coached defunct Escom United, coaches Nyasa United whereas Thango Chauma is the boss for BNC Produsak.

Shadreck Mpesi trains Kabula United, formerly Escom.
