Strive to keep your fire burning

It’s very easy to feel uninspired or distracted, but don’t pull yourself down. Here are some suggestions to avoid that.

Deliver what you need to do:

Fulfil your obligations better than you’ve always done. Don’t let your feelings get in the way. They may not be tasks that excite you, but such nuts and bolts are often what hold ‘exciting’ things together.

Appreciate what you to do:

This is about opportunities and contributions. Don’t take yourself or what you get to do for granted. Make time to find right contributions to commit to.

Honour what you choose to do:

This requires a shift in how you think. You can make a situation better by not acting helpless and looking for the silver lining. You have more power than you think. Tackle any blockages inhibiting or limiting your options. Act from the premise that you are largely in control and push on from there.

Celebrate your creation:

This is about being mindful of what’s needed, but is lacking. Keep your mind ticking and have conversations with people to discover what you are worth. Keep a list of the big ideas that fascinate you, investigate them, find out others who might be interested and pursue them together. Be driven to learn so you always have intellectual resources to address problems in novel ways.

Now take action:

What one thing interests you that you can make time to contribute to?
