Sunbird Ladies Night thrills

Listen to this article

Ladies were last Friday given a reason to smile, relax and enjoy themselves at an event specially organised for them by Sunbird Tourism at Sunbird Mount Soche.

The event, dubbed Summer BBQ Night, was meant to give the ladies a different experience from their daily routine.

US-based make-up artist Omega Nankhuni also attended the function and taught the ladies how to care for their faces.

Nankhuni said being a make-up artist is not about making money, but it is about making women look good.

During the night, she gave free makeovers to ladies picked at random from the audience.

Said Nankhuni: “Doing a make-up on people is just like blessing them. It is not just about making them beautiful.”

Sunbird Tourism public relations officer Akossa Mphepo said they invited a make-up artist since women need to look good as this also helps to build their confidence.

A raffle draw conducted at the event saw a Skylinks employee winning a Savers Choice shopping voucher worth MK25 000.

There was also catwalk competition which saw contestants receiving hampers from Candlex Malawi Limited.

Cancer Association of Malawi’s Tapiwa Gwaza gave a talk on breast cancer.

Ladies night is an event that started six years ago to give ladies a chance to have fun, relax and unwind without feeling that someone is watching or judging them.
