Surestream Academy’s remarkable run in the Division One of the Southern Region Football League (SRFL) continues as they have now shot to 28 points from 10 games.

The academy side, that is under former Flames captain Peter Mponda, thumped Superior Halaal 5-0 at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.

Surestream scored through Mike Mkwate, Tony Baisi (2), Ernest Tambe and Edwin Carlos. They comfortably led 3-0 at half-time.

Surestream have won nine out of 10 games and have drawn once against Mitole.

Their closest contenders are Luchenza, who are trailing by six points, but have played two games more. On third position are Blantyre ADD who have 19 points also from 12 games.

However, Mponda said despite the fine run, they will not sit on their laurels.

“The focus is mainly to prepare the players physically and mentally in the event that an opportunity for trials comes up. But I am satisfied with the boys’ performance although there are one or two tactical areas that we need to work on,” said Mponda.

Surestream travel to Makoka for another league game this [Tuesday] afternoon.
