Ten artists have collaborated on a song project Feel The Greatness championed by seasoned artist-cum-producer Tapps Bandawe under the banner Tapps and Various Artists.

They are Lucius Banda, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Piksy, Saint, Ritaa, Hayze Engola, Lilia, Richard Mphopeya, E Ward and Can Blue.

The song is asking for individuals to discover the greatness in them and make a positive contribution to lift their communities.

Despite being a star-studded line-up, the artists kept their focus on delivering the message in line with the theme of the song. Done in a choral rendition save for the rap bars provided by Hayze Engola, E Ward and Can Blue, the team stuck to the basics in a captivating way.

If the audio version does not trigger enough excitement, then the video will do the trick. Their effort showed in shooting at different sites such as Mulanje, Bingu National Stadium. KNQR factory, Amaryllis Hotel and the costume they put together reveals an inspired commitment.

The producer said the artists were selected from across generations to ensure the message is delivered to a cross-section audience.

Bandawe also said he hopes the song will kick-start a debate on mindset change.

He said: “We are always drawn to things that are scandalous in nature, but I want to create a moment where we talk about what we are aiming for in life. Because there is greatness within all of us.

“We need to look at what we are trying to achieve based on our God-given greatness as individuals. We have to ask the question of what each individual feels is greatness for them and what they are doing towards achieving that greatness.”

The song was produced at Tapps Hit Factory Studios and the producer said the artists’ selection aimed to achieve a balance between their complementary qualities and a strong mentality make-up.

Bandawe said: “We wanted artists from the yester-era, the current ones and the up-and-coming crop. We wanted artists that have capacity to deliver the message at a higher level like the project demands.”

He said the song will be available on Spotify, YouTube, BoomPlay and local online networks such as Mikozi where people can download it.

“We have received corporate support and the names that have assisted will be announced during a proper event. Depending on the response we will also roll out an international campaign on the same theme to get the message as far as we can,” he said.

One of the artists appearing on the project, Ritaa, said the nature of the project brought a special feeling to the artists involved. Ritaa said: “There is always that moment when one needs to tap from their greatness. We were tasked to stir this process. The impact of the theme is huge and the positivity of it is fulfilling.”
