Temwah steps aside

Urban music songstress Temwah has announced a break from music until December, drawing mixed reactions from her fans.

In a brief statement, the artist said: “The pause is intentional and necessary. A moment to reset, recalibrate and protect the integrity of the art. Activities will resume in December 2026 when the time and voice feels right again.”

When The Nation contacted her , the multiple award-winner did not give out much, only confirming the development while indicating that all she has is love for her fans who have supported her career throughout.

The development has coincided with an announcement from her former manager Temwani Jeffrey Luhanga that the two have concluded their management partnership after five years.

In a statement shared on her Facebook page, Luhanga said their partnership concluded amicably before she made her personal decision to step away from music.

She said: “I have nothing but respect for her talent and I support her decision to do what is best for her. Temwah is an incredible human being, artist and I will always be cheering for her on the sidelines.”

Temwah’s decision comes on the back of her recent success at the regional 2025 Zikomo Africa Awards where she won the Best Artist Award.

Since she came on the scene, Temwah has established herself as one of the voices in the urban music circles, combining amapaiano, jazz and Afro-dance elements in her music.
