Thank you for the devaluation

Listen to this article

Our leader of delegation, the Most Genuine (MG) Professor Dr Joyce Befu, MG66 and MEGA-1, PhD (Honoris Causa deservedly awarded to her person by the University of Tsangano (Unitsa), has directed us to formally write to economists and finance experts, and financial regulatory authorities and thank them abundantly for devaluing the Malawi Kwacha.

The devaluation of the Malawi Kwacha is good and most welcome because it satisfies the very multinational monetary institution (MMI) that brought structural adjustment programmes to Africa and consequently impoverished the continent.   Wherever this MMI has been and has been listened to, the people there have become poorer until their political leaders have questioned the intention of the MMI. You are happy that now Malawians are 44 percent poorer, MMI. Aren’t you?

The politicians here in Malawi, the Republic of the Flames, are very happy that the devaluation has taken place to satisfy the MMI demands. The prices of goods will be higher now, meaning that the average person will find it harder to get the basics of life.  The poorer the population the easier it is to control, cheat, and tame.  The purpose of politics is taming the population into a political geography.

How? The politicians will now be going out with handouts pretending to assist the very people the politicians wanted the MMI to impoverish.

The late Ngwazi Kamuzu Banda rubbished suggestions from the MMI and other economic terrorist organisations, together known as the Washington Consensus,  and fixed the Malawi Kwacha. He did this because he knew currencies all over the world are fixed except in the Republic of the Flames.

His successor listened to the honeyed words from the Washington Consensus and saw the country that produced and sold finished goods abroad turn into a beggar country. He allowed the Malawi kwacha to devalue into nothingness. He sold all state companies. The very companies that produced and manufactured exportable goods were sold out. As a result, Malawi stopped manufacturing Whitex Kutchena and other trade mark products, Leather and Luggage products, Robin Bridge Shirts, Crown Fashions, and, many other products.

In the name of human rights, prisoners were stopped from engaging in the farming activities that fed them. Instead, and as advised by the MMI, those outside prison were taxed more to keep those in jails well fed.

The government was advised against using its own Ministry of Works to maintain roads and advised to privatise the earthworks machinery and hire the same machinery from the new private owners.

The people of the Republic of the Flames were annoyed, grieved, sweated and bled.

Then (ka)Ngwazi Bingu wa Mutharika took over, with a promise to undo what his predecessor had done. He told the MMI to forget about fooling the Republic of the Flames anymore. He fixed the value of the currency because he knew currencies are fixed. He subsidized agricultural production because he knew the MMI and its economic terrorist partners tolerated and encouraged agricultural production subsidies in America and Europe.

Malawi achieved similar food security to the period Ngwazi Kamuzu ran the Republic of the Flames.

Then another experiment was conducted and lo the problems of the second republic came back to hound the people of the Republic of Malawi.

Then another currency value fixer came in only to be ousted by another currency devaluer.

The Republic of the Flames is well aware of what works but it chooses policies that impoverish and disempower the people so that these look to politicians for assistance.  The politicians will appear benevolent and receive the votes that will keep the poor in perpetual poverty and the politicians in perpetual opulence.
