Third K1m Carlsberg prize goes to Silver fan

Rogers Siula on Friday became a third winner in the Carlsberg win with your club promotion after winning K1 million (about $2 500).

Speaking in a phone interview Siula could not believe that the fortune was in his yard.

“I cannot believe this. I am over the moon. I am so humbled and excited,” he said.

While confessing that he did not expect to win, he said he just opened a bottle store at Kamba in the city and had sent over 500 entries into the competition.

Carlsberg also gave out 20 T-shirts, 20 footballs and 20 caps to lucky winners in the competition.

Commenting on the progress of the competition, Carlsberg Malawi senior brands manager for Alcoholic Twikale Chirwa said he is impressed with the progress more especially that they are receiving entries from supporters of all teams.

“At first it was only Big Bullets and Wanderers that were competing in the competition, but now we have supporters from various clubs and this has changed the perceptions on who is supposed to win. We have seen Epac supporters on the list of winners and as Carlsberg Malawi we are very happy and we expect to see more miracles in the weeks to come,” he said.

The last draw of the competition will be conducted in Mzuzu on June 14 and the team with the highest entries will win K5 million (about $12 500).

Currently, Big Bullets is leading the chart with 39 949 entries followed by Wanderers with 19 000 entries.
