Jack Chamangwana, Ernest Mtawali and Lawrence Waya will spice up the Standard Bank Knockout Cup draw this evening at @tmosphere Bar and Grill in Mandala in Blantyre.

Standard Bank head of marketing Chimwemwe Matonga said they have lined up the legends as a way of appreciating their contribution towards football development.

The three delight in the glory of being some of the finest players to emerge on the domestic scene.

Chamangwana and Mtawali also took part in last year’s event while Waya has been added to the fold this year. It is reported that another revered former Flames captain Peter Mponda had also been lined up to grace the event, but will be unable to take part due to work commitments with Surestream Academy.

“It would have been an honour to be part of the event, unfortunately, I am up North on a scouting mission,” said Mponda.

Apart from the draw, four teams that amassed the highest votes in the voting exercise conducted in Standard Bank branches will also be announced. The teams will be involved in preliminary games to identify the two that will join the six teams that earned automatic qualification.

The six teams are defending champions Mighty Wanderers, Silver Strikers, Moyale Barracks, Mafco, Kamuzu Barracks and Blue Eagles.
