TNM Super League second-round most impressive performers Blantyre United can take their revival to new heights when they meet rivals Azam Tigers this [Tuesday] afternoon at Kalulu Stadium.

So impressive has been the Elia Kananji side that it has so far won three of its four league matches since the start of the second round. United beat Mafco 1-0 on Saturday at Kalulu. Sparrow Msowoya netted the solitary strike.

But today Blantyre United will be up against a wounded Tigers side that is yet to win in two second-round games. United are on 11th position with 22 points whereas as Tigers are ninth on 23 points.

Elsewhere, Civo United’s one-one draw with Blue Eagles on Sunday did not help the cause of the civil servants who are a step away from the relegation zone on 20 points, placed 12th.

The second round has seen all rookies Evirom United, Mponela United and Mzuzu United occupying the last three bottom positions in the relegation zone on 14, 13 and 11 points respectively.

Mzuzu have 11 losses so far followed by Evirom’s 10 while new leaders Red Lions have most wins at nine. The Lions lead on 32 points, one point ahead of deposed leaders Kamuzu Barracks.

On the individual front, Epac FC’s Ishmael Thindwa is on course to reclaim the Golden Boot Award after his hat-trick in 4-2 trouncing of Mponela United on Saturday took his tally to 11 goals.
