TotalEnergies renovate Namiwawa Primary School

TotalEnergies Mandala service station has handed over a newly renovated school block to Namiwawa Primary School in Blantyre.

The renovation, valued at K3 million, included a fresh coat of paint and other improvements.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the service station operator, Jolly Nkhonjera, stated that the revamped classroom will motivate learners not to miss classes.

Nkhonjera further called on well-wishers to come forward and assist in addressing the pressing issues to create a safer and more conducive learning environment for the learners.

“The school is situated in the heart of Blantyre City but faces significant challenges despite its central location.

“The condition is deteriorating, with broken features such as ceilings and faulty electrical wiring in urgent need of repair,” he said.

Headteacher for the school Charity Kafansalire said the conducive environment will inspire learners and help them pass exams.

She said: “Despite the newly renovated school block, the school continues to face several challenges, including a shortage of desks, limited classrooms, inadequate teacher housing, and the lack of a fence.”

Vanessa Kalasa, one of the learners, expressed that the renovated block will motivate learners to achieve high grades.
