Africa football kings TP Mazembe have unveiled Malawian international Joseph Kamwendo with the Democratic Republic of the Congo club’s coach praising the midfielder as an intelligent footballer.

Mazembe coach Patrice Carteron told the club’s website www.tpmazembe.com/en that he observed a strange thing in Kamwendo when he featured for his former Mozambican side Liga Muculmana against them in the CAF Confederation Cup in May 2013.

The coach’s description of the player is in a few words: “Passes fine, intelligent, is able to play in different positions, playing the
game,” reported the website today.

Kamwendo’s manager Felix Ngamanya-Sapao told Nation Online last week that the player was penned a five-year deal with Mazembe.

No financial details were given but he could now be among the highest earning Malawian footballers playing in foreign land. He follows at Mazembe Luka Milanzi who is now on loan at Zesco of Zambia.

“I experienced a good atmosphere among players; they are friendly … I knew TPM when I was 12 with its performances and games in African club cups. And I followed its matches and news on TV from Malawi,” Kamwendo is quoted saying on Monday.
