Umodzi Mwa Kristu, a church founded in 1973, is today celebrating its 40th anniversary, the resurrection of Jesus Christ and ordination of its deputy bishop.

Bishop of the church, Mackean Gulumba, said this in Blantyre on Monday, disclosing that the three celebrations would take place at the church headquarters in Namitambo, Chiradzulu.

“We are celebrating the 40th anniversary of our church, established by our former founder the late Bester Bisani, in January, 1973. We are also ordaining our deputy bishop, Emily Nkhoma, and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” said Gulumba.

He said the ordination will be presided over by Senior Pastor Milias Salima who will also outline the role of a bishop in the church.

It is expected that the celebrations will be witnessed by delegates from Malawi and Mozambique.
