Unima to host Sanord Conference

The University of Malawi (Unima) will for the first time host this year ’s the Southern African-Nordic Centre (Sanord) Conference at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe.

Unima vice-chancellor Emmanuel Fabiano said this in an interview on the sidelines of Chancellor College’s 40 years anniversary celebrations which took place in Zomba last Thursday.

He said the 42-member conference will take place from December 1-4 under the theme ‘Towards the end of the Millennium Development Goals Era: What contribution have our universities made?’  Said Fabiano:

“Sanord is a non-profit, membership organisation of institutions of higher education and research, committed to advancing strategic, multilateral academic collaboration between institutions in the Nordic and the southern African regions as they seek to address new local and global challenges of innovation and development.”
