Ngalande will get a run, says manager

Flames star forward Robin Ngalande’s manager Paul Mitchell has expressed optimism that the player will get a run at South African club Bidvest Wits next season since the club has a new coach.

Mitchell, who runs South African-based firm Siyavuma Sports Group, attributed Ngalande’s lack of game time to the removal of coach Antonio Habas.

“When Antonio was in charge, Rob enjoyed game time after he settled down, but when Clive Barker took over, he was not part of his plans.

“But Gavin Hunt is the new coach and he knows Rob and I am optimistic that he will enjoy game time in the forthcoming season,” said Mitchell.

He also disclosed that an overseas club is interested in Ngalande’s services.

“We are just hoping that it is going to work, but either way, Rob will enjoy game time in the coming season,” he said.

But the agent could not be drawn to name the club interested in Ngalande.

Mitchell also said he is happy that Ngalande is performing for the Flames.

“After a lengthy drought, Rob recently scored two goals in three games [against Zimbabwe and Kenya] and that will obviously boost his confidence and that he will play a big role in his country’s quest to qualify for 2014 World Cup,” he said.
