Vanguard sponsors 36km to Kambewa

Vanguard Life Assurance Company on Friday sponsored cyclist Francis Kambewa’s 33km cycling to Lilongwe to raise funds to support Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Mothers Fun Run in Ntchisi this year.

Company’s marketing manager Ndamyo Mwakikunga said they received a request from Kambewa for the sponsorship and also because of the nature pg the event, the company decided to sponsor the cyclist with K300,000 for 36 kilometre ride.

“We would want to be part of the Mothers Fun Run this year as NPL gives back to the people of Ntchisi especially mothers.

“We have got a very good relationship with FMB and Francis Kambewa hence our sponsorship,” said Mwakikunga.

Kambewa said is ready for the ride and his bike is just superb for the cycle just waiting for the big day today.

“I am humbled for the corporate sponsorship and I want to assure them that I will not disappoint them.

“I will be depart at 4am and very ready for the road to cycle for 12 hours at the rate of 45kilometre per hour which is my average cycling,” said Kambewa.

NPL marketing assistant Sugzo Mwantisi said so gar had raised 60-70 percent of the proceeds required from corporate world and individuals.

“We appreciate for the support and we hope Ntchisi mothers will get the much needed support.

“We also thank  Vanguard and the whole world corporate for cash and material support that they are continuing assisting us,” said Mwantisi.
