Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have said their head coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan has taken a break from granting media interviews.

The Burundian last spoke to the media after the Nomads were held to a one-all draw by Kamuzu Barracks (KB) in their opening TNM Super League match a fortnight ago.

Since then, he has been delegating his assistant MeckMwase.

In an interview yesterday, Nomads technical director Yasin ‘Titch’ Osman said: “The coach has taken a break because he felt he was misquoted on the issue relating to catch-up games with [FCB Nyasa] Bullets.

“He feels the issue was twisted and  blown out of proportion because what he meant by catch-up games was that we should not focus on Bullets’ results, but we should concentrate on our own games.”

He also stressed that the coach has not been gagged by the club.

After the match against KB, Ramadhan said his team struggled because they followed the Lilongwe-based Malawi Defence Force side’s pattern of playing long balls.

“The catch-up game also affected us because Bullets played yesterday, so there was some sort of pressure,” he said.

Osman also said they are happy that the team is slowly taking shape, having won back-to-back against newly-promoted sides Fomo FC and Creck Sporting Club by 3-0 margins.

“Remember we have a couple of new players and the players are still gelling. So, we are taking a game at a time,” he said.
