Khamolela: Repent and leave the past

Just as he astonished many with his mastery of traditional medicine, the once mighty Mulanje witchdoctor Shadreck Khamolela has gone full throttle winning souls for Jesus Christ in Chiradzulu, Thyolo and Mulanje.

Popularly known as Dr Mfiti Zagonja before his incarceration six years ago, Khamolela was converted and accepted the call to serve Jesus when he discovered that he was on the path to hell.

On Sunday last week, the witchdoctor-turned preacher evangelised at Namitembe Ethiopian Church, which is in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Nkalo in Chiradzulu.

His sermon was based on the theme ‘Who are you walking with?’ drawn from Revelation 20:15 and Matthew 3:4-10.

Khamolela confessed and thanked God for changing his life through the time he spent in jail.

But he warned Christians who have never been through his situation to avoid self-righteousness, arguing that some believers could be “signposts which simply point to a place, but never go there themselves.”

“A Christian who has been delivered from sin must demonstrate it through his actions. As long as this is not happening, you are simply signposts to heaven, but you will never go there yourselves,” he challenged.

Khamolela expressed sadness that many lives are still stuck in wickedness and appear not ready to repent.

“I want to warn you, my fellow Christians, that unless you convert today, you will all perish in hell despite donning the tag of Christianity. One thing you must know today is that there is no fraud and corruption in heaven.

“As such, you have two choices to make: convert to Christ today and be delivered or continue staying in darkness and be punished forever,” he said.

Meanwhile, Khamolela has released DVDs and CDs containing confessions of his past dark life and sermons aimed at inspiring others to change their lives.
