WOMAN BATTLES FOR HER LIFE AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT

A 27 year old woman (name withheld) from Lilongwe’s high density Lingadzi area is battling for her life at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) after she was abducted before being sexually abused by unknown gang.

We have gathered that the incident took place on Saturday, August 30, 2025 when a group of 12 panga-wielding men stormed her house before being gang-raped and was left unconscious.

The young mother of one narrated that she met her ordeal when she was coming from a local market within her vicinity when she noticed a suspicious vehile bearing no registration number which had dark tinted throughout.

“I immediately told myself that something is amiss. In no time, the vehiled pulled over at where I was trekking. At this juncture, I saw three men disembarking from the car before forcefully throwing me into the back seat of the vehicle,” she narrated as tears cascaded down her cheeks at the hospital bed.

She added: “I was blindfolded and taken to what I can only assume was a gated compound house where the guys started shouting at me claiming that me and my husband owe them something which we have to pay back. They started beating me up  , undress me and took turns in raping me. I couldn’t shout out loud as they had a cloth tied around my mouth,” she bitterly lamented.

The victim also claimed she doesn’t remember much after wards as she went unconscious from the heavy beating and the sexual assaults which also made her to bleed profusely at the time of the nasty incident.

She added that later, she was dumped close to the fields at night where a passersby heard her screams and took her to police.
