Zomba launches ECD awareness week

Zomba Early Childhood Development (ECD) network on Wednesday launched a week-long awareness campaign aimed at sensitising people to the importance of the initiative.

Speaking in an interview after a big walk from Zomba Zero Point to Mponda Primary School, Zomba ECD Network chairperson Sam Kanyemba asked authorities to support the initiative.

“During this week, we will be lobbying people to take part in the awareness campaign to help several nursery schools in the district.

“Some of the challenges the network faces are non committal of funds by donors and some network members. Chiefs and other relevant authorities are also not supportive to this initiative,” said Kanyenda.
