Manowood Cinema, a movie promotion company, has announced the postponement of the tour by Nollywood stars who were scheduled to grace the opening of the cinema this weekend.

However, while the opening of the cinema is still on tomorrow at City Mall, the premiere of Off The Hook movie has been shifted to next week as the one of the leading actors has been caught.

“We announced that we will have Jackie Appiah, Prince Davis Osei, Alex Usifo and the movie producer Andy Boyo coming to Malawi. However, Usifo has travelled to the US for a movie shoot. While we were trying to shift the premiere dates in order to accommodate him, he did not get back to us in time when we had already shifted to May 3.

“We are therefore going to premiere the movie in his absence, but the other three will come. Usifo will come to Malawi in July, when we will be premiering our next movie The Cobra,” explained managing director Udokporo Nathaniel in an interview.

Other programs for tomorrow remain unchanged according to Udokporo.

“We are ready to roll as everything is in place. The red carpet event where journalists are free to do interviews and all that starts at 2 pm. We will show three movies namely, Last Secret, Night of Judgement and The Rubicon. All those who will come will be treated to free delicious popcorn,” he said.

M Cinema is just a segment of what Manowood Limited will be offering in Malawi. The company will also be doing movie distribution, musical shows, television reality shows, comedy shows, movies production, audio/visual editing and mobile cinema among others.
