Malawian musicians who are playing at this year’s Lake of Stars
Festival, and their managers, to help with their professional
development and career advancement, takes place in Lilongwe on
Wednesday, September 2.

Blantyre and Mzuzu workshops will be on 9th and 15th September, respectively, according to organisers.
“The workshops will cover topics such as networking in the music
industry, both online and off-line, media management and creation and management of artist portfolios. We want to encourage maximum involvement and participation in the workshops which are for free.
“We are always looking for ways to maximise the platforms we have so that we increase visibility and share skills with the arts and culture sector in Malawi. Artists are a crucial part to the festival, with no artists there is no festival. We value the contribution local artists bring to the festival which is why we have set up these workshops,” says Lake of Stars Project Director Will Jameson in a statement.
Annelies De Bruine, Director of Master Your Ability said “We have
already confirmed over 20 artists for the workshop in Lilongwe and we are equally excited to register similar numbers in the other two regions.”
The Lake of Stars project, whose aim is to promote Malawian arts and culture and also promote Malawi as a tourist destination, takes place at Sunbird’s Nkopola Lodge from 25-27 September.
