“We have invited various dignitaries, including senior clergy in the church, government officials as well as members of the movement locally and internationally,” reads an invitation letter co-signed by the National Ecclesial Team in Malawi comprised of the Mwenelupembes and Fr. Kuppens.

Mwenelupembe said Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) is one of the Christian family movements in Malawi whose vision is “Love one another as I have loved you”.

WWME, which started in Spain in 952 by Father Gabriel Calvo, was started in Malawi in 1985 by the late Bishop Matthias Chimole and it has since 1985 continued to grow in membership as well as in its endeavours. Now Malawi has about 700 encountered families, 19 priests and 18 sisters.

Meanwhile, presidents of the International Confederation of Christian Family Movements (ICCFM) Jorge and Rosalinda Carrillo together with secretaries/treasurers Edgar and Cinthya Montalvo are expected to visit Malawi from September 10 to 17, 2015.
