One of the country’s reggae-dancehall artists, Saint, has been given a new lease of life following the release of his hit song Delilah.

Speaking in an interview, Saint, who came into the music limelight in 2013 with his debut hit One Last Kiss, said Delilah has taken him beyond new horizons.

“I must acknowledge that Delilah has improved my music reach. The good thing is that the song is applicable to both old and young generations,” he said.

Saint: Delilah has improved my music reach

Produced by Gaffer (audio) and video by Sukez of HD Plus Creations, Delilah is an interesting love story which is riddled with mistrust, fear and anxiety. The song continues to resonate with many and is topping charts on different radio stations, including online music platforms.

It is not strange for musicians to become overnight celebrities upon the release of popular songs. But Saint said it took him time and careful analysis to produce music that leaves a long lasting impression.

“I don’t release music simply because anyone else is doing so. I see an issue or need to address.  That is why my music lives on,” said Saint.

Born Yamikani Chikwawe, Saint is a song writer, singer and performer whose music career began at a tender age while at Mvera Support Battalion in Dowa where his father was working as a Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldier.

He draws his inspiration from such influential international artists as Christopher Martin, Jah Cure and Chronixx. On the local scene, he salutes Trumale.
