‘Some born-again Christians are possessed’

While a majority of believers do not believe a born again Christian can be possessed by a devil or demon, some members of the clergy say facts and truth are that most born again Christians are possessed.

One of the local religious leaders, Dings Mpota, told Nation on Sunday this week that many Christians today are living under curses emanating from demonic forces despite being born again.

Mpota said this is why some dedicated and devout believers are failing to make a breakthrough in their socio-economic lives as the devil is hindering their progress.

“For instance, we judge the morality and the spirituality of commercial sex workers thinking they are into the trade on their own accord. But that is not right because those people are doing that because of demonic forces.

“Now, if such people receive Jesus Christ and become born again Christians today, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they have been depossessed of the evil spirits,” he said.

He said this is why pastors are organising healing and deliverance crusades across the country to free people from curses.

Mpota said together with Bishop Charles Kapenga of the Living Waters Church they are going from place to place preaching the gospel and delivering people from bondages.

“Wherever people need our service, we go and minister,” he said.
