2 women in custody for scalding brother
Police at Lingadzi Sub-station in Lilongwe are keeping in custody two women for allegedly scalding their brother, Jossamu Jere, with hot water.
The suspects, Elina Mwekuwa and Zione Kalumbu, who brew local beer at Kauma area in the capital city, were arrested on Tuesday.
Jere (27) said he met his fate while trying to resolve a family dispute.
“My brother-in-law complained to me about what my two sisters [Zione and Elina] did by taking his wife to a drinking spree at night. My in-law and I went to their house to discuss the issue.
Mwekuwa (31) and Kalumbu (28) come from Mkakambo Village, Traditional Authority Chimutu in Lilongwe.
