Good Soil Academy unveiled in Lilongwe

Good Soil Partners has announced the launch of a Christ-centered secondary school to reflect the organisation’s commitment to faith-based, transformative education in the country.

Set to open this September, Good Soil Academy in Lilongwe will have an intake of up to 400 students with initial enrollment limited to Form One female learners.

Eggert :Our goal is to ensure that the benefits of this institution reach beyond its walls

The academy plans to expand to include boys in the coming years and will eventually offer Form 2 to Form 4 classes—allowing students to sit for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.

Addressing journalists at the school’s campus along Bunda Road, the president, for the organisation Dean Eggert, said the school aims to create a space where quality education, spiritual growth and leadership development intersect.

“Since 2009, Good Soil Partners has provided scholarships to academically promising students from underprivileged backgrounds, helping hundreds pursue secondary and tertiary education across Malawi.

“Good Soil Academy is, thus, more than just a school but a platform that will shape future leaders who are grounded in faith, discipline and a spirit of innovation,” he said.

With construction nearing completion, the academy plans to provide scholarships— with 8 fully-funded places reserved annually— for students from surrounding schools.

“Our goal is to ensure that the benefits of this institution reach beyond its walls. These scholarships are a key part of our community engagement,” Eggert said.

Taking his turn, the organisation’s director of operations, Wambula Saka, stressed that the academy will match academic excellence through its strong extracurricular offerings.

He said: “We’re designing programmes that nurture leadership, entrepreneurship and practical life skills while students are still young.”
