President Chakwera takes re-election bid to Ntcheu
President Lazarus Chakwera has assured people of Ntcheu of continued development projects if Malawians give him a second term of office in the September 16 General Election.
He said this on Wednesday during whistle-stop rallies in the district.
The President, who visited Inkosi ya Makhosi Gomani V at Nkosini and Traditional Authority Kwataine at Mbvimbo Headquarters, addressed people at Lizulu, Kambilonjo Trading Centre, Champiti Court and Kasinje Trading Centre.

At Lizulu, Chakwera told the people of Ntcheu North Constituency that Lizulu will have modern structures and become an international market.
He said the market borders Mozambique whose people are Malawi’s brothers and sisters.
Chakwera noted that the borders were created by colonialists, but said when one crosses to Mozambique there is Inkosi Zintambila who is also Ngoni as the people of Ntcheu.
“Lizulu is a big market and being a border market with various food commodities and businesses, it deserves to become an international market,” he said, adding that factories will be constructed for processing and value addition.
The President asked people of Ntcheu North to vote for him as President and Everlisto Chodzadza as member of Parliament.
On his part, Paramount Chief Gomani V said he was excited with the President’s visit to the area.
While at Kambilonjo, Chakwera described the Ntcheu-Tsangano Road as crucial for the country’s socioeconomic development.
“Tsangano is a food basket for Ntcheu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu and the country at large. Therefore, the road plays a crucial economic development for the country,” he said.
Malawi Congress Party Ntcheu Dzonzi-Mvai Constituency aspirant Mwayi Kamuyambeni said people of Tsangano are hard workers who do not depend on handouts, but farming throughout the year.
He commended the President for his dedication to finish constructing the Tsangano Road.
In his remarks, Traditional Authority Mpando thanked the President for supporting people in his area.
