Kasungu Harvest Festival set for debut
Kasungu Harvest Festival , a new entertainment and cultural festival, is set to make its bow on May 29 at Kasungu Hotel, formerly Kasungu Inn.
According to organisers, Akometsi Limited, the three-day event is designed to celebrate agricultural success, cultural heritage and community development in Malawi.

The curators say Kasungu being one of the key agricultural districts, plays a significant role in food production and rural economic activity.
Speaking in an interview, Akometsi Limited marketing and operations manager Laurent Kwakwala said the event’s primary purpose is to celebrate agricultural achievements such as bumper harvests and promote unity among communities and stakeholders.
“We want to provide a platform for cultural expression, create opportunities for interaction between farmers, businesses, and institutions and support local economic activity and tourism,” he said.
The artists set to perform at the event include Moses Makawa, Lady Aika, Sife MW, Sean Morgan, Gwamba, Bwede, Temwah, Joseph Nkasa, Charisma, Kineo Madness, Favoured Martha, Teddy Makadi, Saint, Joe Gwaladi and Gibo Pearson, and many more.
It will be a comeback moment for songstress Temwah who will return on stage for the first time since her announcement that she has taken a break from performing four months ago.
“I thought I would be out until December, but I thank God for speeding things up. Good to be back on stage,” she said.
