Goshen City Trust pumps K175m into Miss Malawi
Goshen City has unveiled a K175 million sponsorship package for the Miss Malawi 2026 edition, raising the stakes for the country’s flagship beauty pageant.
The package includes K75 million for the winner, up from K50 million last year. The winner will receive K30 million cash, a car valued at K35 million and an apartment worth K10 million.

An additional K100 million has been earmarked for the organisation and running of the event covering key areas such as production, training, accommodation and mentorship programmes during the next event.
Goshen City president Prophet Shepherd Bushiri said the Goshen City vision is to build a generation of confident young people and the Miss Malawi platform serves as a premier platform for that growth.
He said when young people are given the right support, they can rise to represent the nation with excellence on the global stage, adding that the increased investment follows the progress noted in last year’s edition.
“We increased the investment because we have seen the potential of Miss Malawi as a platform for developing world-class ambassadors. This is about raising standards, transforming lives and positioning Malawi on the global stage,” said Bushiri.
While previously the staple pageant has been subjected to inconsistencies, he affirmed that the organisation is taking a long-term approach to its involvement.
“Our commitment is long-term. We are building a legacy. This is more than sponsorship. It is a deliberate investment in Malawi’s future.” said Bushiri.
Reflecting on the 2025 edition, the prophet said it showed great progress in talent and organisation, but also highlighted areas to improve.
“We have already seen the transformation that comes with structured investment from professional coaching to international collaboration. Our goal is to continuously raise the standard,” he said.
In 2025, Goshen City supported capacity building initiatives, including engaging renowned pageant coach Alice Rowlands Musukwa and facilitating collaboration with Botswana-based Brave Hearts to strengthen local production capacity.
Miss Malawi Organisation public relations officer Stephen Mdala said the increased package signals confidence in the pageant’s direction.
“It is a sign that Miss Malawi as a brand and pageant has been doing well because if Goshen City has come back to sponsor more, it shows that Miss Malawi has the potential to do more. All we need is support,” he said.
Mdala said the support goes beyond financial value, as it creates opportunities and empowerment for young women across the nation.
“It also shows that Goshen City’s commitment to empowering young women, the youth of Malawi and creatives because this is not just money, but providing opportunities for a Malawian woman,” he said.
Mdala said the pageant will continue to position the winner as a voice for young people while maintaining the platform for young people’s voice.
“It will continue to be the youthful voice that will change the narrative of Malawi,” he said.
